Killington Resort's Daily Report

August 13, 2026 4:20 PM

Good afternoon, Beast fans!

Sunshine made its appearance across the mountain today, making for another spectacular summer day at the Beast. Friday is looking to bring more of the same, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures climbing into the mid-80s. Winds will be light, blowing from the northwest at around 5–10 mph.

Let’s dive into what’s going on tomorrow:

In the Bike Park, Snowshed and Ramshead Express will spin from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The K-1 Gondola will also be back in operation from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with the last cabin heading uphill at 4:30 p.m. The Peak Lodge will reopen from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., offering a variety of summer menu options. Take a scenic ride up the gondola and enjoy our Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich or Blackened Shrimp Tacos at 4,241'!

Keep in mind as we roll into the weekend, the Peak Lodge will be closed for a private event this Sunday. August 16th.

Snowshed has been getting plenty of attention from the Trail Crew, with the Trail Crusher working through sections of Side Show Bob, Lower Jump Start, Krusty, and Roller. The crew has also smoothed out each line in the Easy Street Progression Park, making it a great spot for beginner riders to explore features like corners, rollers, bridges, and drops.

Exciting news over in the K-1 Pod: Low Rider is set to open tomorrow morning, bringing us to 100% of our trails open and ready to ride!

Our Trail Crew has also been refreshing Stinky Skills Zone all week long, with this fan-favorite progression park projected to reopen sometime this weekend. Stay tuned to upcoming Mountain Reports, the Lifts & Trails Status page, and our social media channels for the latest updates.

There’s even more new terrain to explore with Lower Side Quest, our brand-new trail branching off the freshly opened Lower Blue Magic. Riders can expect a mix of flow, tech, and plenty of new line choices, with some fresh loam waiting to be ridden. More sections of Lower Side Quest will continue opening throughout the remainder of the summer!

A huge shoutout to our Trail Crew for getting these trails dialed for the season with all the heavy rainfall we’ve been experiencing on the mountain.

Black Magic is celebrating its 10th season in the Bike Park, with top-to-bottom freeride laps ready for riders to enjoy. Meanwhile, crews are making steady progress on the new Dual Slalom course as we get closer to our final Full Send Friday on August 21st.

Even as we approach mid-August, winter has a way of sneaking up on us here, which means our Mountain Ops teams are already planning well ahead. Crews are busy repairing and refreshing our terrain park feature fleet for another great park season, while over at Bear, snowmaking pipeline replacements in the Base Area have wrapped up and work is now underway on additional snowmaking infrastructure on Upper Wildfire. Summer may be in full swing, but winter prep never takes a day off!

Tomorrow is looking like another great day to get out on the course. Tee times can be booked online up to one week in advance. The Clubhouse Grill will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with limited grab-and-go options also available in the Pro Shop.

Our hiking trails will offer a variety of options for both beginner and advanced hikers. Tomorrow, all hiking trails except Trail C will be open and ready to explore! For a relaxing jaunt, check out Trail I around Snowshed Pond, an easy 0.7-mile journey that’s doable for hikers of all ages. Please follow all posted construction signage around the K-1 Base Area, and be sure to check out our hiking map before heading out.

The Adventure Center will be open tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.! Take in the views as you navigate the Skye Ropes Course or catch a breeze soaring down the Soaring Eagle. Looking for even more airtime? Strap into the Trampoline Jump and pull off some tricks and flips. If low-key is more your vibe, head over to the Roaring Brook Mine to pan for minerals and take home a keepsake to remember your adventure.

Saturday’s forecast is looking perfect for another afternoon of Cooler in the Mountains, our free live music concert series happening in the K-1 Base Area from 3:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. Stop outside the K-1 Lodge to catch Kenny Mehler open before Burlington, Vermont-based guitarist and songwriter Bob Wagner takes the stage.

Did you know Killington Sports on Route 4 is open all weekend long? Stop by Fridays from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. or Saturdays & Sundays from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to score some of the best deals around!
