Killington Resort's Daily Report
Hey, Beast fans,
That’s a wrap on summer operations, and you know what that means…winter is right around the corner! Thanks to everyone who joined us on the mountain this summer, and a big shoutout to our incredible staff for helping make it all happen.
As we switch gears to winter, please note that all hiking and mountain biking trails are now closed. Uphill travel is also not permitted on the mountain and Golf Course at this time as our team works across the mountain to prepare for winter operations.
We know you’re just as excited for Opening Day as we are! While we don’t have a scheduled opening date just yet, we’re making the most of every snowmaking window. Temperatures have been dipping below freezing for brief periods, giving us opportunities to fire up the snowguns. Temps are expected to dip down into the 20s on Friday night and stay cold enough to make snow through Sunday. Snowguns will be active across Upper Great Northern down from the top of K-1, Reason, Rime, and Upper East Fall. Check our webcams to see our progress.
As we get closer to the start of the season, you may spot snowguns running here and there as temperatures fluctuate. However, efficient snowmaking requires a prolonged stretch of cold temperatures, so our team is ready to take advantage as conditions allow. We’re making every snowmaking window count to put an initial layer of snow down, making it easier to stack the snow for future snowmaking efforts as we approach Opening Day.
Speaking of winter, the countdown to the Stifel Killington Cup presented by Dunkin’ is ON! Snowmaking returns to Superstar this weekend in preparation for the event. We’re just over a month away from welcoming the world’s fastest women’s alpine ski racers to Superstar, November 27–29, for a weekend of world-class racing, live music, and thousands of East Coast ski fans. And the slopes aren’t the only thing bringing the heat! Our live music lineup has officially dropped, so grab your tickets now!
As we enter our third year under independent ownership, we’re investing another $15 million in capital improvements, bringing our total infrastructure investment to $80 million since fall 2024. With another $200 million in projected capital expenditures over the next decade, we’re continuing to build better experiences for you and an exciting future for The Beast. Check out our latest Insider Blog for all the details.
Wax those skis and boards, dig out those layers, and start planning your winter visit, Beast fans. We’ll see you on the slopes before you know it!
