Mountain Report

Good morning, Beast fans,

Can you believe it? September is officially in its final stretch, and the fall colors are really starting to show off around the mountain. Peak foliage is here, and the views are only getting better!

We’ll likely start this morning with a bit of mountain mist, but things should clear up as the day goes on. Temperatures will climb into the low 60s, with winds topping out around 10 mph. By the afternoon, the sun should make an appearance, bringing an even brighter view of the fall colors around the mountain.

The K-1 Gondola will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as we continue daily operations through Monday, Oct. 12. As usual, the last cabin heads uphill at 4:30 p.m. The Peak Lodge will also be open, with the food court serving from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and grab-and-go options available from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The bar will be open Friday–Sunday through Oct. 12 for expanded beverage options.

Over in the Bike Park, the Snowshed and Ramshead Express lifts will continue running from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily through Monday, Oct. 12. After that, these two lifts will reopen on weekends only through the rest of October for the tail end of our fall operations.

Don’t forget: This is a prime time for K-1 laps, as most of our K-1 Bike Park trails are currently open daily! Find something a little more technical and savor the views as you ride down from 4,241'. Low Rider, Steel Panther, and Scarecrow remain closed due to construction for our new Snowdon Quad, but all three are expected to reopen in the near future.

For a more flowy ride, swing by our Snowshed pod and check out the latest work from our Trail Crew. The upper section of Step It Up recently received a full refresh, complete with more rollers and reshaped berms. The middle section is closed for more trail work, but Upper and Lower Stinky remain open, providing ride lines around work areas. Shout out to our Trail Crew for keeping it fresh out there as we get deeper into fall!

Even before you Step It Up, there are plenty of beginner options to get those wheels turning. Cruise through Easy Street, Wiggle, Roller, and more, or build your confidence in the Easy Street Progression Park before taking on some of the bigger features around the mountain.

Over on Ramshead, Trail Crew has been putting the trail crusher and excavators to work, refreshing large sections of terrain throughout the pod. Lower Sideshow Bob recently received a complete makeover and is open top to bottom with smooth berms and freshly worked dirt. Go check it out while it’s still nice and fresh!

Trail conditions will be on the wetter side this morning following the weekend’s stretch of rain, but things are drying out, making it a great time to get out and take in the foliage on two wheels. Please note, trails may temporarily close during the day as trail work and leaf-blowing operations take place, so be sure to check our Lifts & Trails Status page for the latest updates before heading out.

The Adventure Center will be closed today as we continue our Saturday–Sunday-only schedule through Oct. 12, plus Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

In other news, the Golf Course is open and ready for play. Tee times remain available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and are bookable online up to one week in advance. The Clubhouse Grill is back open today, while the Pro Shop remains open with grab-and-go food and beverage options available.

Looking to earn your views this foliage season? All hiking trails remain open except for Trail C. Please follow all posted construction and event signage around the K-1 Base Area and check out our hiking map before heading out.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the Pepsi Mountain Clean-Up is back on Saturday, Oct. 3. Register today for free to come help us get the mountain cleaned up before winter arrives—all participants earn a free lunch and entry into a stacked raffle. The following weekend, Harvest Faire returns on Saturday, Oct. 10, featuring family fun including kids’ activities, hayrides, live music from The Loonz, axe throwing (18+), and the crowd-favorite stein-hoisting competition (21+)!

Finally, the countdown is on for the Stifel Killington Cup, returning to Superstar Nov. 27–29 and bringing the fastest women’s alpine racers back to the East. Tickets are on sale now, so secure your spot and get ready to cheer on the world’s best!
