VT Green Up Day

Join us for the annual VT Green Up Day, a yearly staple in the state of Vermont since 1970! Green Up bags will be available at the Killington Town Hall, the Transfer Station, the Public Safety Building, or the Welcome Center. Participants can bring their full bags of trash to the Transfer Station on River Road on May 2 or May 4 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

There will also be a complimentary BBQ lunch for all Green Up Day participants at the Johnson Recreation Pavilion from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. For questions about the Town of Killington's Green Up Day initiatives, head to the Green Up Day page on killingtonrec.com.

Green Up Vermont’s mission is to promote the stewardship of our state’s natural landscape and waterways, and the livability of our communities by involving people in Green Up Day while raising public awareness about the health, economic, and visual benefits of a litter-free environment year-round. In 2025, over 25,000 volunteers worked together to pick up over 425 tons of trash on approximately 95% of Vermont's roadways.
