The K-1 Lodge Grand Opening Celebration

After three years of construction (including pandemic-related delays) the brand new 58,000 square foot K-1 base lodge is finally complete! The Killington Community gathered on Thursday, January 26 to celebrate its grand opening with a party. A fire roared in the grand fireplace on the second floor, which was easily accessed by Rutland County’s first escalator.

Killington President and General Manager Mike Solimano gave a brief resort update and then cut the official ribbon with many of those who made the new lodge possible by his side. A champagne toast was given to celebrate the occasion, and then the hundreds in attendance were left to mingle and enjoy the beautiful new building, while the Nord Peak 5 performed. The Killington culinary team assembled an impressive spread of food including a roasted pig, tropical fruit tower, seafood raw bar and other treats. Guests were also able to sample some Cutwater Spirits new canned cocktails and take home a commemorative Kona Big Wave K-1 pint glass.
