Spartan Race
Think you're one of the toughest in the East? Prove it in “Joe’s backyard,” where Spartan Race was born. This legendary Killington course will push your limits with brutal climbs, punishing descents, and relentless terrain. If you're ready to conquer one of the most challenging and rewarding races in the world, the rugged Green Mountains of Vermont are calling your name. All finishers receive a medal, a trifecta medal wedge piece, a t-shirt, and a finisher beverage (non-alcoholic option available).

Volunteering
Spartan volunteers earn a race credit to run a future race plus a volunteer t-shirt, lunch, and snacks during the day. Half day and full day shifts are available throughout the weekend. Please visit the volunteer page below for more information, available shift times, and to sign up.
Spectating
Spectating zones during Spartan Race include the lodge at Bear Mountain & the area around the top of the K-1 Gondola. A spectator ticket or Killington Scenic Gondola Ride ticket must be purchased to enter the vendor village and ride the K-1 Gondola on Saturday. Please note: parking at Bear Mountain will fill up quickly on both Saturday and Sunday, but shuttle service will be available between Bear Mountain and the K-1 Gondola for more information on shuttle services, please read below.
Viewing Locations
The Spartan festival village at Bear Mountain offers views of course obstacles, as well as the start and finish line. It also features hot food, entertainment, raffles, and spectator challenges.
The Peak Lodge will be open to the public all weekend long from 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Gondola rides are free for Spartan athletes and anyone with a Spartan spectator pass. The K-1 Gondola will operate from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Last ride up is 30 minutes prior to closing at 4:30 p.m. Hiking (on trails A, C, E, F, and J) and mountain biking on trails accessible via the K-1 Gondola will not be permitted during Spartan weekend.
Shuttle Service
Free shuttles run from the following locations on Saturday from 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

- East Mountain Road Condos
Spartan parking is prohibited at Ramshead and Lower Snowshed. If you need to make it farther down the mountain, The Bus runs hourly between the resort and the city of Rutland. There is no charge to be picked up from the resort, but the cash fare is $3 per person if picked up elsewhere. Visit The Bus website for a full schedule.
