Private lessons offer coaching for every skier and rider ages 3+, whether you’re an expert freestyler looking to hone your airtime moves or a first timer aiming to gain confidence on snow.
Ability: open to all levels of skiing and riding
Available: Daily and offer 1.5-hour, 3-hour or 6-hour sessions
Lessons meet: At Snowshed Lodge, adjacent to the Beast Mountain Coaster
Please arrive 10 minutes early to your lesson. All lessons have a fixed start and end time and times will not be adjusted for early or late arrivals.
Rentals and Lift Access: Program does not include Lift tickets and equipment rental. A lift ticket or other lift-access product is required while in a lesson.
All lessons must be booked online in advance to ensure we have an instructor available to suit your needs.

During checkout, you’ll be prompted to take a short survey to help our instructors fine-tune your private lesson around your goals. Be sure to fill this out with as much detail as possible about what you’d like to focus on, the more we know, the better we can personalize your experience.
At Killington, private lessons are completely customized the moment you meet your instructor. Instead of choosing from rigid lesson types, you’ll talk about what you want to work on, and together we’ll build your lesson from there.
Some of the directions your lesson can take include:
- Refine your skiing, snowboarding, or telemark fundamentals
- Explore freestyle terrain, moguls, or gates
- Ride park & pipe with guidance from trained instructors
- Learn to move through glades and natural woods confidently
- Keep the family together in one inclusive experience

Details
- Private lessons are open to all abilities for both skiing and snowboarding
- First timers can add a Limited Learning Area lift ticket and rentals for just $153.
- Lessons do not include lift ticket, rental equipment, snow sports helmet or lunch.
- Lessons are available from Thanksgiving through mid-April.
- Advanced reservations are strongly recommended.
- Please make sure you are booking the correct start time, location and sport (ski or snowboard).
- All lessons have a fixed start and end time and times will not be adjusted for early or late arrivals.
- All private lessons gain access to the priority lift line during their lesson time
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes early for your lesson for check-in.
Know Before You Go
- Please ensure your child has warm, waterproof layers, gloves/mittens and eye protection (sunglasses or goggles).
- Your child (ages 3-17) is required to wear a properly fastened snow sports helmet when participating in a ski or snowboard lesson.
- If your child’s equipment malfunctions, Killington Resort and Pico Mountain staff may select and sign for rentals from our rental shop.
- In the event of your child’s injury or medical emergency, Killington Resort and Pico Mountain staff may contact medical personnel and/or arrange transportation to a medical facility. In case of emergency, we will attempt to reach the emergency contact provided at the time the lesson was purchased.
- Killington Resort and Pico Mountain staff may supervise transport of your child by van and public bus to other locations within the resorts.

Cancellation Policy
Prior to 4:00 p.m. two days prior to the lesson date, lessons may be canceled for a 90% refund or 100% cancellation credit. Prior to 4:00 p.m. the day prior to the lesson date, lessons may be canceled for a 100% cancellation credit. No refunds. After 4:00 p.m. the day prior to the lesson, there are no cancellations or changes permitted since we’ve held that spot from our inventory and have assigned an instructor to teach the lesson. We know that weather and snow conditions vary, but if the resort is open for skiing/riding we will be providing lessons as scheduled and there are no refunds, vouchers, or credits issued due to these events.
