Killington Chili Cook-Off

The much-anticipated Killington Chili Cook-Off is returning to the K-1 Base Lodge for its thirteenth year on Thursday, August 6 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Join the competition and bring your finest chili to compete for the title of "Best Chili in Killington" or just come to taste! All proceeds benefit the Killington Recreation Scholarship Fund to support children in sports and summer programs. Enjoy live music during the night from John Lackard Blues Band and an on-site bar (no outside alcohol is permitted).

Guidelines for Participating 

  • Participants are required to supply at least 4 gallons of chili, along with a list of main ingredients that highlights any dietary restrictions (such as pork, beef, or vegetarian, dairy, gluten etc.) 
  • Participants should be set up by 4:45 and ready to begin serving by 5pm. Judging will last until 7pm, but participants may continue to serve chili until 7:30pm when the winners are announced. All participants will need to be packed up and cleared off their tables by 8pm. 
  • Participants must bring their own serve ware (spoon, ladle etc.) for the chili. Electricity is not guaranteed so chafing dishes are suggested. The Town of Killington will provide sample cups and tasting spoons. 
  • Participants must have people present to serve the chili. 
  • Participants may bring a business banner and promotional items to distribute if interested.

Judging Categories

People's Choice: This award will be determined by the people and given to the chili that receives the most votes.

Judges Choice Categories:
Judge's Choice, Best Restaurant chili, Most Original/Creative Chili, Best Bribe Attempt, Best Presentation, Best Vegetarian Chili, and Best Side/ Garnish

Free parking is available at all Killington Resort base lodges. In the winter, premium parking is available at K-1 & Snowshed Lodges.
