Killington Resort Marks Snowdon Quad Construction Milestone with Helicopter Fly Day

KILLINGTON, Vt. (September 23, 2026) – Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard destination in Eastern North America, conducted several successful helicopter flights on Tuesday, September 22 as part of the construction process for the incoming Snowdon Quad. The resort's newest lift will travel along the same path as the former Snowdon Triple and is being manufactured by Dopplemayr, the same manufacturer of the Superstar Six which opened in November 2025.

The helicopter transported and helped install the final ten of the new lift’s nineteen total towers and crossarms, as well as four sheave trains that were moved into place separate of their supporting crossarms. The helicopter also removed three of the previous lift’s towers that are set to be reused as future terrain park features or scrap metal. Like its predecessor, the Snowdon Quad will be a fixed-grip chairlift and is expected to open to the public this upcoming winter.
