Killington Resort Announces Community Partnership with Come Alive Outside
KILLINGTON, Vt. (April 26, 2022) – Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest mountain resort in Eastern North America and a POWDR company, announced its partnership with Come Alive Outside through a $40,000 donation and employee participation in their programs.

Come Alive Outside’s Outdoor Passport program is a hyper-local program that gives adults and children added incentive to be active and take advantage of access to nearby nature. Participants earn points and win prizes for visiting local parks, farmers markets, and community events to complete tasks. The new Outdoor Passport program model will remain deeply local and rely on the power of strong partnerships, which make the Outdoor Passport program unique and effective.

About Come Alive Outside
The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic recession have negatively affected many people’s health and created new barriers for people already suffering from mental illness and chronic health disease. Prior to the pandemic, children were spending over seven hours a day looking at screens and half as much time outside as they did in 1980. The numbers are even worse for adults. This replacement of time in nature with passive screen time is having a profound impact on our mental and physical well-being.
Being active outdoors and connecting to nature has been proven to improve both mental and physical health. Nature experiences decrease anxiety and stress. Connecting to nature even increases self-esteem and provides individuals with a stronger feeling of social inclusion.
